Backstage in Manchester recap

This weekend, Victoria Turner and I welcomed people to take a sneak peek behind the scenes at two of our most important projects, in collaboration with Manchester Society of Architects. Victoria led fascinating tours of the Royal Exchange Theatre, offering a real backstage insight into our work with the company over many years, inlcluding the story of our intial ‘module’ design back in 1974-76 and the big refurbishment project in 1996. RET staff were also on hand to provide a glimpse into the inner workings of one of the country’s most exciting theatre companies.

Meanwhile, I was hot-footing around the many (many) corridors of Old Granada Studios, discussing our proposals as part of the first phase of Allied London’s St. John’s masterplan – a mixed use development of workspace, apartments and event space centred around the refurbishment of the iconic Granada office building to create a new destination hotel.

Thank you to everyone who came along - we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
