Copenhagen study tour: overview

A great time was had by all on this year’s study tour to Copenhagen. The Ryanair flights were not cancelled, the weather gods were very kind to us with two beautiful blue sky days and we were spoiled for choice with the number of great tours on offer, with everyone getting to create their own preferred itinerary for the weekend.

Friday’s visits included the Copenhagen International School, a housing tour of Ørestad, two city walking tours and a behind the scenes look at the Opera House, with some finishing with a performance of Rigoletto there that evening.

Saturday was no less jam-packed and included a cycling tour of cohousing sites in Roskilde, a tour of classic buildings with breaks for cake, a visit to DR Koncerthuset and Tietgenkollegiet, a landscape cycling tour of the city, a walking tour of Freetown Christiania and a visit to the Ragnarock museum. That evening we all came back together for a delicious dinner at Restaurant No.2, with lovely views over the water and equally lovely company. All very hyggeligt, I’m sure you’d agree!

The final day included a coach trip out to Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, a visit to KU.BE with a lecture from ADEPT Architects and a boat trip around the harbour with a guide from the Danish Architecture Centre, all before catching our flights back home that evening.

A big tak to everyone for all their efforts in making this such a great study tour!
