Landscape lunchtime walk 2.0

The landscape studio went on the second of our lunchtime walks on Wednesday to visit the City Mills development in Haggerston. I led the walkabout having worked on the landscape at my previous practice, from early concept through to the completion of the first phase.

There were many positive aspects to the detailing and layout of the scheme, including public art, boundaries, planting, materials and sizes of private front gardens, yet the residential development also provided a number of lessons to be learned with regards to maintenance, use, ownership and care of front gardens, and ensuring that S278 works are undertaken. Overall, it was a hugely valuable visit and we look forward to the next one!
