Open House 2015: The Inner Workings of Collaborative Masterplanning

On Saturday 19th September, we will be opening the doors to our studio as part of Open House 2015.

The exhibition of work by ourselves, Proctor and Matthews and Cullinan Studio focuses on the regeneration of the Eastfields Estate in Mitcham; examining how the three architectural practices are working together to develop a wide-reaching masterplan for the area.

Focusing on the benefits of taking a collaborative approach to masterplanning, the exhibition will examine the various aspects involved in the process by displaying a wide range of materials, relics, documentation, imagery and models.

The exhibition will be a visually stimulating presentation of the inner workings of the office grind – enquiring, self-referential, complicated, practical and messy.

The office space itself is a key part of the exhibition and nothing will be overlooked. Everything from old models to the contents of the bins will be examined, creating a haphazard appearance that reveals different perspectives on the masterplanning process.

By gradually revealing the everyday workings of our masterplanning team, the exhibition will look at what ingredients are needed for masterplanning and why a collaborative approach is so vital to its success.

Date: Saturday 19th September
