This development of high quality affordable housing is located on a challenging site adjacent to the six lane A1, with green belt land to the rear. The site was originally comprised of two smaller plots, each with separate planning consents for very traditional schemes with small units. We amalgamated the sites to provide homes with space standards exceeding the London Housing Design Guide.
The development offers 29 affordable homes, with 83% social rented and 17% shared ownership. The elevation responds to the rhythm of the adjacent detached houses, reinterpreting the bay windows, breaking up the façade with larger bays and wintergardens. Generous terraces and balconies provide views of the surrounding countryside.
