Royal Free Square, Islington

About:

Royal Free Square was a collaboration between us, another professional team and two clients working in parallel. The redevelopment provides 182 dwellings and a day centre. It has been created within refurbished listed buildings integrated with new housing on a tight and complex site. The final design has a series of linked intimate urban spaces of differing scales to create new vistas.

Artist Jane Ackroyd established a residency here and as a result, the landscape incorporates metal sculptures inspired by workshops with the new residents.
