Planning granted for new build to rent neighbourhood in Bolton town centre

We are delighted to share that we, alongside landscape architects CW Studio, have secured planning consent for a new build to rent community for Placefirst in the heart of Bolton town centre.

The masterplan for the new Central Street neighbourhood relates back to the fine grain layout of the area during Bolton’s industrial peak and creates new links to a regenerated River Croal so that this asset can be brought into greater use within the town.

158 homes will be provided for private rent. These range in size from one-bedroom apartments, to two-bedroom family homes which are arranged as stacked townhouses, stepping down the hill towards the river. Innovative ‘one-and-a-half-bedroom’ homes will also be available; these feature a central, flexible area that can become a home workspace, extended living space or temporary guest bedroom, depending on a resident’s needs, to offer adaptability and practicality over time.

The homes benefit from shared communal spaces and generous external amenity, both public and private. Varied outdoor spaces are located throughout the development at ground level and above. In addition, a civic square behind Deansgate and off Central Street will link the new buildings and provide high quality public space for the town.
