'A City for All Londoners'

The newly released 'A City for All Londoners' is Mayor Sadiq Khan's vision for the capital. Although the document is still quite general, it does touch on pressing topics, including housing and land usage. The commitment to higher levels of affordable housing is obviously very welcome as is their desire to engage and consult widely from the start. There is a lot of mention of higher density housing – higher than what, I wonder? Density is already worryingly high in many parts of inner London and it still seems to be much more about numbers than design quality!

From now until 11 December, there will be a series of invitation-only consultation workshops and focus groups to review the document and shape policy, however, feedback can also be sent directly to yourviews@london.gov.uk.
