This is our competition entry for a new independent living scheme in Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire. We reinstated the ‘village’ feel in the town centre with three buildings that took inspiration from the historical grain of the site and the traditional farmsteads formerly located there. Each building is influenced by a different farmstead typology and has a ‘farmhouse kitchen’ looking onto a generous shared garden.
