Tomorrow, 8 November, is the launch of the new book “A Gendered Profession”, published by the RIBA and edited by Ruth Morrow, Harriet Harriss, James Benedict Brown and James Soane. Comprised of a variety of essays from academics and professionals alike, the publication not only examines gender inequality in architecture but draws out how changes can be made, by touching on important issues, such as LGBT, age or family status. My contribution to this book includes chronicling my time working on the campaign to save the Royal Vauxhall Tavern from closure (RVT Future) with a group of RVT performers, writers and regulars, resulting in the venue being the first building in the UK to be given listed status based on its LGBTQ history.
There are still tickets available to attend the launch event here. Alternatively, you can order your own copy of the book here.
