The RIBA has featured Loudoun Road, one of our housing schemes in LB Camden, in their new publication on the benefits of post-occupancy evaluation (POE). POE is how we, as architects and designers, can continually learn from projects and build on this knowledge over time. We all want sustainable and healthy buildings, and this provides an opportunity to check that these objectives are being achieved and the building is working as intended.
As their report explains, we designed a highly efficient building envelope, including high levels of insultation and airtightness, at Loudoun Road. Our POE revealed that this focus on high fabric performance during design and construction greatly reduced the performance gap.
