After months of training, the big day had arrived as Matt, Marta, Raquel and I took to the course in Richmond Park, bedecked in lycra and laden with energy gels of various disgusting flavours. Despite the glorious sunshine, the moment of truth turned out to be a couple of hours of hills, pain and inconsiderate dog-walkers, but everyone finished and to the victors went the spoils – an oddly overwrought medal and matching low-quality t-shirt.
It was the first half marathon for all of us, and although the course presented more topographical challenges than any of our training runs, everyone did really well. Matt romped to victory in the (admittedly small) Levitt Bernstein employee category. Thanks to Amandeep and Adam for coming to cheer us home!
