Today is International Women's Day, a day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. It also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. This year's theme is #BreaktheBias. We’d like to share a few suggestions for how you could mark the day.
Part W Collective is gathering suggestions for built projects where a woman or women have played a pivotal role, to create a foldout Women’s Work: London map. Consider making a suggestion for the map here. They are also seeking funding to spread this study of projects around the UK and beyond, so please consider donating if you are able.
Black Females in Architecture is hosting a celebratory, informal conversation between co-directors Akua Danso and Selasi Setufe (who was recently awarded an MBE for her services to diversity in architecture). Attend Women of the World (#WOWLDN), a three-day festival at Southbank Centre, celebrating women, girls and non-binary people all over the world and featuring discussions, performances and activists.
