On Saturday we opened up our studio at Thane Works in Finsbury Park as part of the London Festival of Architecture. We thought this year’s festival theme, ‘In Common’, was a great chance to meet and speak to the creative communities that make up our neighbourhood, with whom we have Islington ‘In Common’.
We hosted events across the day including workshops and tours of our building, together with stalls and demonstrations from weaving, ceramic and culinary industries.
Keeping with the theme we shared details of Levitt Bernstein's work in the London Borough of Islington - including built projects and some that are still on the drawing board - as well as an insight into our social value activities across the UK. The multimedia exhibits enabled our visitors to engage with drawings, models, augmented reality and the makers of the architecture around them.
Thanks again to our LFA team, and collaborators, Arjan Van Dal Ceramics, Concord Institute, The Handweavers Studio & Gallery and all our other creative neighbours at Thane Works for bringing this wonderful event to life.
And a very big thank you to all our visitors who made our ‘In Common‘ Open Studio event such a success this year, celebrating all things Islington - our home borough!
