The first phase of the linear park at Aberfeldy Estate was officially opened last week in spring sunshine and amidst a host of tulip flowers. The park provides a fantastic new amenity space that, once connected with phases 2 and 3, will form a ‘green spine’ through the centre of the new residential masterplan with pockets of play for young children.
The promotion of biodiversity has been a consistent thread within the landscape design and seeing the wildflower meadow establishing so well means we’re well on the way to creating new habitat for important species, such as the brown-banded carder bee and the Brimstone butterfly. The next phase of avenue trees will be selected by our landscape architecture team in a couple of weeks.
