Thank you to everyone who stopped by our London studio, Thane Studios, on Saturday as part of Open House London. Open House is an annual celebration of London’s architecture and neighbourhoods, where countless public and private buildings are opened across the capital.
We displayed a variety of architectural models and other work, and visitors were able to take a tour of our studio, which used to be an industrial laundry building – traces of which are still visible today. We also handed out illustrated walking tour maps which highlighted local landmarks in and around N7.
Local organisation Finsbury Park + Stroud Green Neighbourhood Forum held an engagement session to get under the skin of what people want to see in the local area, while Goodgym Islington, a volunteering initiative, lead a 6km run through their community projects in the area, starting from our studio.
After being based in Dalston for 25 years, followed by the disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic shortly after we moved to Finsbury Park, we finally feel like we have established ourselves in this vibrant, creative area that we now call home.
