RIBA Guerrilla Tactics talk on age-friendly and multi-generational housing

I was invited to present at the RIBA Guerrilla Tactics event on Wednesday last week. It’s an annual, two-day creative business conference for small and medium sized practices. This year’s theme was ‘Stop, Collaborate and Listen’, calling on architects to 'recognise the power of collaboration for winning work, levelling up their skills, and fostering resilience'.

As part of the CPD sessions, intended as a way to pool resources and experiences amongst designers, I spoke about age-friendly and multi-generational housing. I went through the principles of age-friendly design, using Hazelhurst Court as a case study, and then covered what multi-generational housing is, from individual houses to larger schemes, using Buccleuch House and Melfield Gardens as case studies. It was a very enjoyable talk.

The session was recorded and made available to all ticket holders after the event.
