Quayside Quarter, Ealing


Working within a masterplan by EPR Architects and Gillespies, we have developed proposals for two mixed-use buildings to provide 437 new homes.

Both buildings are stepped and rise in two residential wings above a two-storey podium – Block C to 16 storeys and Block H to 27. The podium in Block C contains car parking and commercial units, whereas Block H contains light industrial workshops and supplemental commercial space. Commercial units are located on street corners to animate these parts of the masterplan. The homes vary in size from studios to three-bedroom apartments.

The character of the buildings is derived from the historic local context and relates to the adjacent new buildings, the factory building they replace, and their proximity to a creative hub. The buildings' massing and orientation also allow for long views onto the nearby canal spur.
