Our concept for the organisation of UCL's new School of Management at One Canada Square was based around dividing the space into disctinct zones, each serving a different aspect of the school's work. These were termed as 'villages'; offices and meeting spaces arranged around a central shared space known as the 'village green'. The circulation is key - it is as much a social space as a route connecting the villages.
This approach not only fosters better interactions and easy to navigate work environments, but also breaks up the otherwise monotonous and corporate character of the office floor.
