Sited near the Grade I listed Geffrye Museum in Hoxton, this project continues the tradition of layering histories, regardless of their perceived cultural value. The site’s most recent use as a car mechanics is translated into a motif and applied to a new building that explores the proportions of the Huguenot merchant houses of Shoreditch, creating a new gallery space for an established artistic hub.
