The London Festival of Architecture programme has just been launched for 1-30 June 2021. The LFA is the world’s largest annual architecture festival, and there is an exciting mixture of talks, workshops and tours, delivered in a mixture of in-person and digital formats.
The theme for this year's festival is 'Care' where the LFA asks: "How has it taken a global pandemic to help us take stock of what we care most about? At a time when technology is both connecting us and dividing us, perhaps the pandemic is showing us that we need to find ways to reconnect with each other, to build care and empathy." The events and activities respond to these questions and more – browse the full programme here.
We are delighted to share that we will be co-hosting an event called 'Co-Designing Place with Community' on Thursday 24 June with Morris+Company and our clients EcoWorld London and Poplar HARCA. This event will tell the story of our regeneration of the Aberfeldy neighbourhood in Poplar so far and explore how genuine community-led design can build better places based on the needs and aspirations of its residents. There will be an opportunity to see the emerging plans for the area, which aims to create a ‘five minute neighbourhood’: a new piece of our city which embraces homes, work, play, community, movement and health – all produced in partnership with an established and diverse community. We hope to see you there: book your free place here.
